World Toilet Day 2022
Let’s get this party started!
World Toilet Day takes place every year on 19 November – and it’s the most important day in the year for Toilet Twinning, as we go on a #big push for the 1.7 billion people who still don’t have a safe, life-saving loo.
This year, World Toilet Day is on a Saturday– which is the perfect day for a toilet-themed coffee morning, afternoon tea or evening party! Could you party hard in our #bigpush to twin as many toilets as possible? We’ve done our best to come up with more ideas than you can shake a loo brush at!
A Soggy Bottoms coffee morning
Here’s everything you need for a fun-filled morning of food, games, a chicken’s toilet antics, and even some rapid squatting!
Who doesn’t want to eat (or make) a poo-emoji cupcake? A Soggy Bottoms coffee morning can be a great way to raise funds, and our downloadable kit includes toilet-themed recipes, printable bunting and a Soggy Bottoms bake sale poster: Everything you need for your event to be flushed with success!
Or if you’re feeling competitive, why not turn your food fest into a bake-off and then sell whatever you make?
Chicken Poo Bingo
Toilet Twinning’s silly sweepstake is back! Can you and your group guess where Daisy the Chicken will do her do-do? Get everyone to choose a square, pay £2 – and then sit back and watch the film to see who’s the Chicken Poo Bingo winner!
If you’re planning a Soggy Bottoms bake off, why not play Chicken Poo Bingo while your cupcakes are in the oven?
Fun and games
Make a splash with some toilet-themed games: everything from ‘pin the flush on the toilet’ to loo roll skittles or a toilet-themed quiz!
In the games kit, you’ll find everything you need for a host of toilet games, plus there’s bunting, invites, and more!
The Big Squat
It’s the ultimate coffee morning challenge (or stand-alone fundraiser, or should that be squat-alone fundraiser!): How many squats can you do before you drop?
If you’re getting a group at work, school, church or a local club involved in some World Toilet Day fundraising, you can design your Big Squat challenge around the amount of time or people you have!
You could challenge contestants to:
- Squat for two minutes each
- Compete against each other by doing as many squats as possible in two minutes
- Hold the squatting position for as long as possible. The last person squatting wins a prize
- Divide into teams and each person has to do a number of squats (eg 20 each). The first team to complete their squats sits down
- Take it in turn to see who can do the most squats in a record-holding contest
Students at Warwick University organised the first-ever Big Squat – with a public relay on campus spread over 12 hours from 8am to 8pm! A core team took it in turn to squat, and passers-by were invited to make a donation or ‘stop and squat’ too, with a Squatting Leaderboard recording the highest numbers of squats to entice competitive types to keep coming back!
Don’t forget to post about your #BigSquat on social media!
And if you need squatting tips, there are some great guides on YouTube!
Blue for the Loo
You’ve baked, you’ve cheered on Daisy, you were first to complete the Build A Bog board, and you’ve even squatted til your quads could take no more…But, If you think your coffee morning could take the loo theme to even dizzier heights – how about dressing up in blue? Ask everyone to donate to wear something (or everything!) blue. You could even order in some blue wigs!
If the Saturday coffee morning isn’t your cup of tea, or is just a little bit on the early side, or lacking in scones – how about a Soggy Bottoms afternoon tea?
Okay, it’s pretty much the same as the coffee morning – but it comes with the unmissable opportunity to combine elegance with ridiculousness in all-things toilet related!
For all the resources, just ransack the coffee morning section above! Or find them all in one place in the World Toilet Day 2022 kit!
It’s Saturday night and the feeling’s right!
If all your friends are busy morning and afternoon – or you think toilet-themed fun is best left for after sunset – then World Toilet Day night on Saturday, 19 November, is surely the perfect time for party night!
Why don’t you make sure The Toilet Party comes to a home, church, village hall or community centre near you?
Not free on the Big Day itself?
If Saturday 19 November doesn’t work for you, don’t despair! We like to think that World Toilet Day can be the highlight of your year on whatever day you choose – and wherever you happen to be… workplace, school, club, church group, Guides or Scouts, college or university… wherever you are, that’s where World Toilet Day can be!
You could swim some lengths, run a 5k, 10k, half-marathon or full marathon, cycle with a toilet seat strapped to your bike or hold a sponsored walk.
