Approximately 75 per cent of Afghans are still in urgent need of clean water and basic sanitation.

Who’s being helped

Nearly 3,000 families are benefiting from a water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programme being run by our partner in a rural area of Afghanistan.

Changing lives

In rural Afghanistan, communities have no safe accessible drinking water, and there is open defecation. This leads to a prevalence of water and sanitation-related diseases. The number of people dying from these preventable illnesses is one of the main catalysts for the water and sanitation work.
