Loos with a view

Photos: Transport Scotland

Among the highest twinned toilets were surely the portable loos at the top of the UK’s tallest bridge: the Queensferry Crossing spanning the Firth of Forth in Scotland.

During its construction, temporary toilets were installed at the top of the bridge’s three towers, more than 200 metres above the waters beneath. So, when construction workers answered the call of nature, they not only enjoyed stunning views – but also saw photos of latrines in Malawi, Cambodia and Nepal which their loos were twinned with.

Our grateful thanks to Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC) for their generous donation.
